Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 51-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of hypertension. There was a history of severe toxemia during her second pregnancy 18 years previously and of edema with her third pregnancy. Ten years before admission fixed hypertension was found. Multiple attempts at treatment were abandoned because of intolerance of phenobarbital, thiazide compounds, guanethidine, methyldopa and reserpine, as well as multiple analgesic agents and several antibiotics. For many years she had experienced severe, persistent fatigue and right-sided headaches that generally began on awakening and were sometimes preceded by an aura of flashing lights on the previous day. . . .Keywords
