Abstract
A prehistoric bag filled with grass seeds, squash seeds and beans, found in the Yuma area, is described. The contents are analyzed and a radiocarbon date of 603 years B.P. ± 140 is obtained from the grass seeds. The prehistoric bag is compared to a modern Yuma Indian bag. The conclusion is drawn that the modern bag may have been the result of a weaving tradition handed down from prehistoric times.
