Abstract
Polymeric rods incorporating the laser dye Rhodamine 6G in a copolymer of hydroxypropyl acrylate and methylmethacrylate have been shown to lase under flashlamp excitation. The rods exhibit high bulk transmission levels, coupled with positive lensing characteristics, that have enabled output energies up to 354 mJ/pulse with a 0.14% energy efficiency to be demonstrated in a preliminary study. Keywords
