Arnold-Chiari type II malformation. A clinicopathological study with special reference to its surgical treatment

Abstract
We report two cases of Arnold-Chiari type II malformation which died as a result of respiratory arrest due to malfunction of a ventriculo-peritoneal shunt. The autopsy findings are described with special reference to surgical treatment of the condition. Es wurde über die intrakranialen Anomalien bei 2 Autopsie-Fällen von Arnold-Chiari Typ II-Mißbildung, die an Atmungsstillstand infolge der Dysfunktion des ventriculo-peritonealen shunts starben, berichtet, mit besonderer Berücksichtigung der chirurgischen Behandlung.
