Abstract
A central data bank that utilizes a computer system is proposed for the collection and storage of soils data. The information is gathered and stored in an organized file that permits a user to retrieve, edit, and add data easily from a remote terminal that may be located a considerable distance from the unit. Operation of the system only requires a minimal understanding of programming. Its use allows statistical analysis of data to be done on a large number of observations so that consideration of the total available information may be accomplished.
