Abstract
Orwell is a high speed slotted ring. Its protocol uses destination release of the slots. Because of this the carried load can be much larger than the transmission rate. A new analytical model of the Orwell basic access mechanism is presented in this paper. The model shows to be accurate and usable over a wide range of parameters. The performance analysis of the Orwell basic access mechanism is presented. Keywords
