Abstract
The concentration of thyroglobulin in the blood of the thyroid veins of dogs was estimated by the precipitin method. Stimulation of the sympathetic nerve, massage of the thyroid gland, and intravenous injections of pilocar-pine and of epinephrine failed to increase the concentration of thyroglobulin in the blood of the thyroid veins above the variations of its level observed in controls. In only 1 dog out of 9 a moderate, although prolonged, increase occurred after stimulation of the sympathetic nerve. Possibly even here the rate of output of thyroglobulin remained constant, the increase in its concentration being due to a decreased blood flow through the gland. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
