Abstract
Despite the problems of our decaying cities, there will be an increasing need for greater urbanization for some time to come. Granted the necessity for the existence of towns, how should they be built and function? Widely divergent views have come from architects, engineers, economists, political scientists, and real estate developers. To this chorus of intellectual bricklayers, the meteorologist is a johnny-come-lately. The meteorological requirements to be considered in the optimal design of towns are discussed in this article. Keywords
