Abstract
A technique utilizing an arc plasma flow for preionizing large volumes of CO2 laser gas mixtures is reported. With this method, stable continuous discharges to 1 atm and power loadings of 400 kW/lb/sec have been obtained using a single arc source. Gain measurements are also made as well as preliminary successful attempts at cw laser action. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
