Abstract
"The development of antifouling paints to the present day is reviewed, high-lighting the differences between Soluble Matrix, Contact Leaching and Self-Polishing systems. The key differences between the "free" organotin systems and the polymer bound systems are discussed, with particular reference to Health and Safety, release rate, and efficacy. Included is a review of how antifouling technology may develop in the future, and the alternatives to organotins."Keywords
