Abstract
The anomalous 3Σ–3Σ transitions of Se2 have been reinvestigated using circularly-polarised laser fluorescence. New values of the Ω-doubling constants λ″ and λ′ have been derived and Hönl–London factors for the transitions are given. We furthermore find that the ratio of intensities of the P,R lines in several of the doublets is not constant over a vibrational progression which indicates a previously unconsidered vibration–rotation interaction. Keywords
