Abstract
New properties of absolute moment block truncation coding (AMBTC) are presented with proof. The main purposes of this work are (1) to provide some fundamental insights into the AMBTC algorithm and (2) to show that AMBTC is a robust choice among the 1-bit quantizers considering both computational complexity and quantization error. Keywords
