Abstract
The second cervical dorsal spinal root was avulsed from the spinal cord in rabbits. The peripheral stump of this root was stimulated so as to produce antidromic vasodilatation in the corresponding ear. Plasma prepared from the blood of this anti-dromically vasodilated ear definitely showed the presence of acetylcholine. There was no evidence for the presence of adrenoxine. The relation between the production of vasodilatation and the production of histamine is discussed in the light of previously reported presence of histamine in anti-dromically vasodilated areas.
