Abstract
Extract The results of a survey of the incidence of cestodes in dogs in the South Island of New Zealand were published by Gemmell (1958) Gemmell, M. A. 19S8. N.Z.med.J., 57: 442–442. [Google Scholar] . The following communication records the incidence of Taeniiidae in North Island dogs, compares the incidence of Echinococcus granulosus and Taenia hydatigena in dogs kept on dairy farms with those on sheep farms, and assesses the influence of voluntary hydatid control measures in reducing the infection rates of these two parasites. Keywords
