Abstract
The scalar ecg provides a dynamic biopsy of the myocardium which must constantly be matched against the established normal. Here is presented a composite adult ecg made up from the normal ranges found in the American Heart Association''s "Electro-cardiographic Test Book". The normal ranges of the P,Q,R,S, and T deflections are graphically depicted for the 12 standard leads. The normal range of S-T elevation is also shown. Many of the classical empirical truths of contour electrocardiography are readily inferred from this composite ecg such as: inverted or flat T''s in leads I or II are abnormal, etc. Keywords
