Observation of the recoil proton in quasielastic pion scattering

Abstract

A semiclassical model is developed to give a first estimate of the expected cross section for observation of the recoil proton in quasielastic pion scattering. Advantages of detecting the proton, rather than the scattered pion, are discussed.
