Abstract
The author discusses in detail the current state of knowledge on the repression and induction of the formation of enzymes in bacteria. This includes consideration of enzymes leading to glucose-1-phosphate, special anabolic enzymes, degradative enzymes Ej, the coupling enzymes Cj or Cj, equations describing his model for enzyme repression and induction, predictions based on the equations, paraconstitutive enzymes and cellular differentiation, and the enzyme-forming system of the mammalian cell. Keywords
