Abstract
The determination of the neutral hydrogen density in a reverse field pinch using a Balmer alpha fluorescence scattering measurement is described. A large discrepancy is found between the experimental results and those predicted by a time dependent collisional-radiative model. Possible implications are discussed. Keywords
