Abstract
Cross correlation and similar operations are used for displacement (delay) estimation in medical ultrasound. We apply the Cramer-Rao Lower Bound to derive analytical expressions to predict the magnitude of errors in displacement estimation using radio frequency and detected data in both one and two dimensions. These expressions are verified by simulation and applied to realistic situations in phase aberration correction and flow estimationKeywords
