Abstract
New results for the viscous incompressible flow past a finite flat plate aligned with the flow are obtained under the Oseen approximation. Results for moderate and large values of the Reynolds number are obtained by means of the Wiener-Hopf technique. For small and moderate values of the Reynolds number, the results are obtained by extending the classical series from four terms to up to one hundred terms. These two schemes have a common region of validity, and thus the results may be interpreted as providing the flow for all Reynolds numbers. The classical result of Piercy and Winny for large Reynolds numbers is found to be in error in the neighborhood of the trailing edge. Keywords
