Abstract
Consider count data which arises from independent observations, but on units of varying size. The counts are assumed to follow a negative binomial distribution. Moment estimators for the parameters K and P are presented, but the procedure for estimating K involves an iterative technique. Prediction intervals for control charting purposes, as well as confidence intervals for the mean, are considered. Keywords
