Abstract
The Diels-Alder reaction is one of the most widely employed methods is synthetic chemistry.1,2) The applicability of this reaction to the synthesis of useful cycloadducts is, however, rather limited.3) A recent communication from our laboratory described a synthetic method for new dienes: trans-1,3-bis(trimethylsiloxy)-5-methylcyclohexa-1,3-diene (2); and illustrated their potential usefulness in the synthesis of Neotropical frog toxin (3) via Diels-Alder cycloadducts.4)Keywords
