Abstract
The Hg concentration in about 700 humus samples from forest areas in NordTrondelag, Oppland and Buskerud counties in Norway was determined by neutron activation analysis. The results show a range of 0.020-0.55 ppm Hg with an arithmetic mean of 0.188 ppm. No pronounced difference is apparent between mean values from different areas. No clear anomalies associated with human activity are observed. The Hg content is positively correlated with the organic matter content of the samples. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
