Abstract
A study has been made of early British literature dealing with the nature, origin and development of peat lands. It appears that most of the basic facts and theories concerning such areas were established by 1820, long before the development of ecology as a separate discipline by professional scientisits. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
