Abstract
To the Editor.— A patient had a very extensive case of molluscum contagiosum, and a daughter later developed the disease. Report of Cases Case 1.— A 19-year-old married Negro woman was seen on Oct 24, 1970, with (1) four typical molluscum contagiosum lesions in the right cubital area; (2) two typical molluscum contagiosum lesions of the right eyelid; (3) a huge verrucose mass 2 inches long, 1 inch wide, and 1 3/4 inches deep resembling a mass of verrucae vulgaris except that it had a much softer feel on palpation and the mass was interspersed with hundreds of white, glistening, and translucent mollusca bodies; and (4) three satellite typical molluscum contagiosum lesions on the left cheek. The lesions in the cubital area were curetted without anesthesia, followed by the application of mild (2%) tincture of iodine twice daily at home. The area healed uneventfully in two weeks and on
