Abstract
The selectivity of cell loss with age was studied biochemically in discrete nuclei of rat brain. In serotonergic neurons, tryptophan hydroxylase and serotonin content decreased throughout the brain. Losses in the cholinergic system were restricted to the caudate nucleus.Keywords
