Abstract
31 ref. Two cases of meningitis caused by Hemophilus influenzae were treated successfully with sulfapyridine. Agglutination reactions showed that the strains did not belong to any of the 6 Pittman types; apparently they are not different from the strains commonly isolated from respiratory conditions. Two fulminant and fatal cases due to H. influenzae Type B are described, hardly any treatment could be given in one case, and none was given in the other. A 3d case responded well to sulfa-pyridine but recurrences of meningitic symptoms indicated that the treatment should continue after the temp. has returned to normal and the c.si. has proved to be free of H. influenzae. Keywords
