Abstract
An analog circuit is described for producing a voltage proportional to inverse magnetic field 1/H over a field range of 20 to 1, for use in recording de Haas‐van Alphen oscillations and similar measurements on an X‐Y recorder. Linearity of the device was determined by the Hall probe used, and was in this case within 0.3% from 25 to 30 kG. Short term stability was better than 0.05%. Long term stability was better than 0.5%, the instability being due to temperature changes in the Hall probe which was mounted without temperature stabilization on the pole faces of the electromagnet. Keywords
