Abstract
The mean pion multiplicity of the high-value missing mass is investigated from a realistic version of the Amati-Bertocchi-Fubini-Stanghellini-Tonin (ABFST) multiperipheral model. It is shown that, for small invariant momentum transfer, the multiplicity is proportional to the logarithm of the missing mass. This can be tested experimentally at a single energy of the big accelerators. Keywords
