Karyotypic analysis of Lens orientalis (Boiss.) Handle-Mazetti.

Abstract
There were no differences in chromosome morphology of different accessions in 11 lines of L. orientalis. The diploid chromosome number was 14 and the average chromosome length was 4.34 .mu.. The karyotype comprised 1 metacentric, 3 submetacentric and 3 acrocentric chromosome pairs. The 4th longest chromosome pair (a submetacentric) was characterized by a conspicuous secondary constriction. A karyogram and an idiogram were prepared and a karyotypic formula was developed.
