Abstract
Detailed measurements have been made of the temperature coefficient of electrical resistance for metallic solids with the approximate composition C$_8$K, C$_8$Rb and C$_8$Cs, derived from near-ideal graphite of high quality. These data and other electronic properties of the solids confirm their n-type behaviour as metallic conductors with the carbon-hexagon networks acting as macro-anions. Comparisons are also discussed with p-type synthetic metals derived from graphite by intercalation of anions, in which the carbon hexagon networks act as macro-cations.Keywords
