Abstract
A new species of Pleurotus with abundant pileocystidia and a black-headed asexual, coremioid stage is described from North America. The sporophores are infrequently found in nature but the unusual asexual stage has been isolated in many places and is associated with a white rot of hardwood trees. Keywords
