Abstract
Aqueous solns. of estrone and diethylstilbestrol are in-activated by Proteus X Kingsbury and a randomly isolated strain of Bacillus mesentericus sp. Ten billion (1010) bacteria inactivate about 0.8 mg. of estrone in the conditions of the test. Fifty five other strains of microorganisms tested (26 apathogens and 29 pathogens) did not alter the titre of the estrone solns. The titre of aqueous solns. of estrone was tripled by contact with bottom yeast, top yeast, Willia yeast, and pombe yeast. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
