Abstract
The development of respiratory movements was studied in embryo chicks by observation through the shell and by graphic means. Both frequency and amplitude of respiration were measured. 3 stages in development were noted. A gradual transition from one stage to another was emphasized. CO2 tension was found to be the important factor in stimulating pulmonary respiration, although drying of the skin was noted as also having a stimulating effect. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
