Averaged Evoked Responses to Synthetic Syntax Sentences (3S)

Abstract
Averaged evoked responses (AER) were determined for 10 subjects during the presentation of synthetic syntax sentences (3S) which had been subjected to either intensity, frequency, or time degradation. Analyses of AER latencies with respect to behavioral performance and stimulus conditions indicate that the latency of the AER is inversely related to the presentation level of the speech stimuli but apparently unrelated to the intelligibility of the stimuli.
