Vulnerability of Working Parents: Balancing Work and Home Roles

Abstract
The influx of women into the workforce has affected dramatically traditional roles and responsibilities within the family. While the family struggles to meet new demands, employers have been less adaptive in accepting the changing roles of women in the workplace. This article reports the findings of a study that assessed the job-family role strain among employees in a large corporation and identified groups in the workplace that are vulnerable to reduced levels of physical and emotional well-being.
