Kinetics of disproportionation–combination reactions between ethoxy-radicals and nitric oxide

Abstract
A minimum value of 0·2 has been obtained for the disproportionation–combination ratio for reaction of ethoxy-radicals with nitric oxide at 25°, the radicals being formed by the multiple addition of nitric oxide to ethyl radicals from the photolysis of diethyl ketone. Taken with earlier results at 95–200°, this gives a maximum activation energy for disproportionation of 0·8 kcal. mole–1, with the probability that the true value is indistinguishable from zero.
