Interaction of a Bloch domain wall with the helical anisotropy induced by itself

Abstract
The stabilization of a single magnetic domain wall in amorphous materials has been studied. The high magnetostriction of the amorphous ribbon has made it possible to change in a wide range all the parameters related with the domain wall, and so to study its influence in the domain-wall stabilization. The experimental results are consistent with a theoretical model based on the interaction of a domain wall with the helical anisotropy induced by the domain wall during the annealing. When a sample under stress, with one or more domain walls, is annealed, an anisotropy following the direction of the magnetization will be induced. Consequently, an anisotropy parallel to the applied stress in the zones of magnetic domains and a helical anisotropy in the domain-wall zones will appear. The above-mentioned effect can be studied by observing the motion of a domain wall near the induced helical anisotropy. This study could be the basis for an easy understanding of the domain-wall stabilization phenomena.
