INTERCAPILLARY GLOMERULOSCLEROSIS

Abstract
Two additional cases of inter-capillary glomerulosclerosis are presented with case histories and pathological reports substantiating the findings of Kimmelstiel and Wilson who first described the syndrome. The pathogenesis of the disease, namely extensive arterial and arteriorlar degeneration associated with diabetes melli-tus, hypertension and renal damage is discussed. Early recognition of the disease is stressed in order that retro-gressive vascular changes may possibly be prevented or retarded in their development.
