Abstract
Patients with severe, chronic pain due to malignancy frequently require regular doses of morphine sulphate for effective pain control. When patients are unable to take morphine orally, it may be administered rectally with equally good results. This study evaluates the clinical effectiveness of “homemade” suppositories, using soluble morphine sulphate tablets and gelatin capsules. Homemade suppositories are economical, easy to prepare and well received by patients. Keywords
