Abstract
[2-3H]D-Glyceraldehyde-3-phos-phate, obtained from the unlabeled D-glyceradehyde-3-phosphate by incubation with triosephosphate isomerase in tritiated water, reacts with dihydroxyacetone phosphate under the influence of aldolase to [5-3HlD-fructose-l, 6-bisphosphate. This can be dephosphorylated to [5-3H]D-fructose-6-phosphate by acid hydrolysis. With the help of glucosephosphate isomerase [5-3H]D-fructose-6-phosphate is transformed to [5-3H]D-glucose-6-phosphate. The latter compound is dephosphorylated to [5-3H]D-glucose under the influence of alkaline phosphatase. The overall yield of the reaction sequence related to the [2-3H]D-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate initially used is about 50%. The exclusive labeling of the products in the position 5 was proved by chemical degradation. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
