Management of soft tissue tumours by limited surgery combined with tumour bed irradiation using brachytherapy and supplementary teletherapy

Abstract
Of 17 soft tissue sarcomas, 16 were controlled by limited resection combined with high-dose radiation therapy using brachytherapy with or without supplementary cobalt teletherapy. Function was retained with preservation of the limb in all lesions in extremities. Adjuvant chemotherapy was used in 4 of 5 pathological grade III cases.
