Abstract
Using vector-meson-dominance arguments we estimate the contributions of vector mesons to total photon-nucleon cross sections. We find this contribution to be nonnegligible in the Fermilab energy range. We also discuss possible contributions from vector mesons made of hypothesized heavier quarks.
