Abstract
In 1974, a private Junior College devoted to the preparation of Health and Human Service workers, initiated a continuing education program in chemical dependency (alcohol and drug abuse). The program is based on the concept that adult learners are responsible to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate their own learning activities in consultation with the instructor. This method assures that most learners will attain their educational goals and maximize their involvement in the training.
