Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the current status and relevant history of the 1964–1968 Presidential Scholars, who were chosen on the basis of outstanding scores on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, the recommendation of school officials, and an autobiographical statement. A total of 172 males and 150 females responded to a 41-item questionnaire. The results indicate a high degree of postsecondary school achievement in academic accomplishments and job status and low incidence of awards for career development. Keywords
