Abstract
A three-group pre-test-post-test design was used to evaluate the effectiveness of a leisure rehabilitation programme. Subjects were randomly allocated to the leisure rehabilitation group, the conventional occupational therapy group, or the control group. Baseline assessments of leisure were carried out on admission to the study and at three months and six months after discharge from hospital. The results showed an increase in the leisure scores for the leisure rehabilitation group only. There was an age imbalance in the study but, after analysis of co- variance, the results were upheld. Keywords
