Abstract
The two photon excited fluorescence excitation spectrum of UF6 has been observed in the region 410 to 315 nm. The spectrum is virtually indistinguishable from the one photon absorption in this region. No vibronic structure was observed in absorption or dispersed emission. These data indicate a high density of u and g states for UF6 in this energy range and facile photochemical decompostion. Emission intensity is found to be proportional to laser power to the 3.0 to 3.6 power. Keywords
