A study of the structure of tellurium tetrachloride in the gas phase and in solution in acetonitrile and benzene by use of Raman spectroscopy

Abstract
Tellurium tetrachloride is monomeric in benzene at low concentrations. Raman spectra of gaseous tellurium tetrachloride and of solutions in benzene and acetonitrile strongly suggest that the same C2v monomeric species is present in all cases.
