Abstract
The formulation and implementation of housing policy in Canada and in the United States are similar in many ways but also show key differences. This article describes the diverse roles of four levels of government in the housing sector in Canada: the Canadian federal government, the ten provincial governments, numerous metropolitan regional governments, and cities. Canadian housing policy appears somewhat more decentralized than that in the United States, in that provincial, regional, and local governments play greater roles. Keywords
