Abstract
In dogs preganglionic stimulation of thoracic sympathetic pathways caused acceleration of the sinus node which was prevented by tetraethylammonium (T.E.A.). After destruction of the sinus node, acceleration of the secondary pacemakers could not be prevented by T.E.A. Asphyxia of the head induced by occlusion of the arterial supply caused acceleration of the A-V node which was not prevented by T.E.A., but was abolished by preganglionic section of thoracic sympathetic pathways. Keywords
